First you need to know that there are approximently 48 species of dolphins. Of the 48 there are 5 that are called "River Dolphins." The 5 Species are the Amazon River Dolphin, the Chinese River Dolphin, the Ganges Dolphins, the Francisana and the Indus River Dolphins. As you probably noticed, the dolphins species are named after the rivers they live in.
There are many different types of Dolphins, some are types of Whales but they are considered a Dolphin.
